Oregon to Idaho

Today we are headed to my sister Jane's house in Driggs, Idaho - can't wait to see her. Just saw her at Andria & Troy's wedding 3 weeks ago - but I can never get enough of seeing my sister!!! We leave the walmart around 9:00 am (I am not an early riser) and drive into Idaho. It will take us about 7 hours of travel time to cover the 400 miles. We travel about 60 mph to conserve fuel so it takes a bit of time to get to where we are going. As we pass through Boise we are still amazed by the lack of traffic. We are practically alone on Hwy 84. There have been many wildfires in Oregon & Idaho this summer - and there must be one burning near Boise. The entire city center is cloaked in smoke and it's difficult to breathe. We close the vents and speed on through. There is alot of scorched grassland on either side of the road. I know it's good for the renewal of the land but it is ugly to look at.

Nothing special to note about the day - just an easy going ride. We pull into Jane's driveway around 5:00 - a bit off our schedule. We stopped near Idaho Falls to walk Henry and get out some fresh air. Definitely worth the delay as it is a beautiful day!

I love my sister to pieces and it is so great seeing her. She made us a fantastic dinner which consisted of an asian noodle bowl. Jane is an amazing cook - I call her a chef - she has worked in dozens of restaurants and owned two herself. Her specialty is asian fusion but she can create just about anything. It is always a joy to sit at her table :)
